
First, US President Joe Biden pointed the finger at container carriers and their record-high freight rates as being the cause of the soaring inflation, and now box carriers – along with the energy sector – are in the firing line of French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire.
According to news agency Reuters, Le Maire has trained his sights on French container line CMA CGM and energy company TotalEnergies, urging them to ”give back a part of their profits to the French people.”
