Verdict in scrapping case has led to increase in applications on legal shipbreaking

The Norwegian Environment Agency has seen more applications on shipbreaking following verdict in case about vessel Tide Carrier. Norway has shared knowledge from the case with other countries in the EU.

The Norwegian Environment Agency has received more applications on legal scrapping of ships, and according to the agency, the trend is directly linked to a prison sentence in the case concerning vessel Tide Carrier.
