Berlin intends to promote the green transition of the German shipping industry via an allocation of EUR 30m per year until 2025.

The subsidies are meant for development of CO2-free vessels, said Federal Government Coordinator for the Maritime Industry and Tourism Claudia Müller previously in the month, according to media Offshore Energy.

”We will provide an additional 30 million euros per year until 2025. We want to promote the construction of zero-emission ships and send out a strong signal for climate-neutral shipping,” said Müller.

The German government provides the means as part of the effort to modernize German shipping, not least via innovation, digitalization and climate transition.
