ECSA: Norwegian bill on seafarers could be in breach of EEA Agreement

The European Community Shipowners’ Associations echoes the criticism from national associations regarding the Norwegian law proposal on seafarers’ pay and working conditions. The proposed law seems to overstep several international laws, according to the organization.

The European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA) joins the choir of concern over a proposed law from the Norwegian government, according to which international seafarers should receive the same pay as Norwegian seafarers when operating in Norwegian waters or in the Norwegian economic area.
