Maritime organizations want ETS income earmarked for shipping's green transition

In an open letter to the EU’s parliament and member states, a number of Europe’s major maritime associations call for earmarking income from shipping’s CO2 quotas for the industry’s green transition.

Income from CO2 quotas for shipping, which is set for inclusion into the European Union’s quota trade system, Emission Trading System (ETS), ought to be funneled back into the industry.
