EU exempts indispensable steel product from Russia sanctions package

One particular steel product is exempted from the EU’s latest sanctions package targeting Russia. This is probably due to the fact the product is used for manufacture of offshore wind turbines, says sanctions lawyer Anders Amstrup Fournais.

When EU nations last week agreed on the contents of their eighth sanctions package targeting Russia, the list included a great number of finished and half-finished steel products. But certain special types may still be imported to the EU.
