Declining numbers for scrubber installations

Just about every fifth vessel in shipyards’ order books are expected to have a scrubber aboard to cleanse smoke from heavy ship fuels, an analysis from Bimco shows.

The amount of vessels equipped with an exhaust gas cleaning system (EGCS), also known as a scrubber, installed in 2022 experienced a decline from the previous year.
