IMO very close to reaching deal with 2050 as a benchmark

2050 - or close to 2050 - will be the benchmark for the shipping industry to reduce GHG emissions to net zero. The IMO is likely to decide on the plan today.

The IMO’s climate committee MEPC is expected to decide later on Friday on the long-term CO2 plan that the countries have come up with after a week of negotiations in London.
