Supplier eyes big opportunities for shipping companies in carbon capture

Capture and storage of CO2 will eventually require an extensive fleet of ships of various sizes to carry the gas, says infrastructure group Altera.
Eight gigatons of CO2 must be captured, transported and stored every year if the world's climate goals are to be achieved by 2050. This will require a "very large" fleet of CO2 tankers, predicts Johanne Koll-Hansen Bø, Vice President & head of CCS at Altera. | Photo: Altera Infrastructure
