Denmark preparing ban on wastewater discharge from scrubbers

Wastewater from scrubbers on merchant ships is dangerous to the marine environment, says the country’s minister for the environment, setting the stage for a ban. Shipowners are woried.

Denmark is set to follow the lead of several other countries with a ban the discharge of polluted wastewater from cargo ships’ open-loop scrubber systems.
