Scrubber suppliers eye new systems financing for shipowners

Scrubber suppliers such as Wärtsilä are getting more inquiries from banks interested in financing the systems. Denmark's Pureteq is also working on financing schemes, CEO Anders Skibdal tells ShippingWatch.

There could be new opportunities in store for shipowners looking to install scrubbers on their vessels, but scrambling to come up with the money for the investment, several scrubber systems suppliers tell ShippingWatch.

One of these is Denmark's Pureteq, which according to CEO Anders Skibdal has been contacted by several banks interested in systems financing.
