MAN invests in hydrogen to reduce climate footprint

Engine manufacturer and equipment supplier MAN Energy Solutions has developed a fuel system for vessels to sail on liquid hydrogen. The gas is one of the alternatives that can help reduce shipping's carbon footprint.

MAN Energy Solutions, Fjord1 and Multi Maritime in Norway have developed a fuel system for vessels to sail on liquid hydrogen.

The system, MAN Cyro, has received preliminary approval from classification company DNV GL and, according to MAN, it represents the first of its kind to get this type of approval.
