New figures show limited premium for low-sulfur fuel

Uncertainty regarding the future price of low-sulfur fuel, compliant with the IMO's 2020 directive, continues to be major. New figures indicate a limited premium price, significantly smaller than many expected.

One of the big questions regarding the global sulfur regulations is the price of the new fuel. But the bill may not be as big as many have feared, according to new figures.

According to Ship&Bunker, Taiwan's CPC Corporation gave its first early indications Wednesday of bunker with a maximal sulfur content of 0.5 percent.
