Hempel to spend billions on new acquisitions

Coating supplier Hempel is prepared to spend DKK 7.5 billion on acquisitions to help realize the fund-owned company's growth plans, says CEO Henrik Andersen.

Hempel, which makes coating for ships and rigs, among other things, is prepared to spend DKK 7.5 billion (USD 1.1 billion) on acquisitions if the right opportunity comes along, CEO Henrik Andersen tells Danish business daily Børsen.

"We're working intensely across the globe to find acquisition candidates. We're looking at candidates in, for instance, geographies where we have a small presence. This could include North and South America as well as Asia," Andersen tells the newspaper.
