Cobham Satcom expects tripling of revenue: "The growth has come as a surprise"

Cobham Satcom, formerly Thrane & Thrane, is growing rapidly with new owners at the helm and new markets for satellite communications. Satcom now expects revenue of USD 500 million in 2024, the CEO tells ShippingWatch.

New technology creates explosive growth in the market for satellite communications and major unexpected progress for technology supplier Cobham Satcom, which was taken over by US private equity investor Advent International last year.

Satcom, formerly Thrane & Thrane until 2012, which now also comprises US company Seatel in California, is known as a manufacturer of equipment for radio and satellite communications for shipping. After a number of years as part of the British Cobham group, Cobham Satcom regained independence in 2020 under US ownership.
