Only a year ago, scrubber suppliers had entirely full orderbooks and looked forward to a lucrative market for the installation of exhaust gas cleaning systems in the global merchant fleet.

Suppliers such as Pureteq and ME Production were ready to hire new staff on the move towards record results – that is, until the global pandemic arrived like a black swan and threw suppliers into a dramatic struggle in early 2020.
