Change of company ownership took new G&O CEO by surprise

G&O Maritime Group's new CEO Morten Pilnov had only been the CEO for about a month when equity fund Polaris acquired a majority stake in the company. The top exec is, however, sees the timing of the new ownership as positive and sees growth opportunities ahead, he tells ShippingWatch.


Morten Pilnov, newly appointed CEO of G&O Maritime Group, had only just set foot in his new office and begun wrapping his head around the new job when another event demanded his attention. Equity fund Polaris acquired a majority stake in G&O this week, about a month after Pilnov became CEO.

Despite the sudden change of ownership, which he was not aware of when he accepted the position, the top exec sees the change as positive. And he finds that the capital they come with can help in the growth process going forward.
