Wärtsilä to install air bubble lubrication system on Maersk vessel

Finnish technology group Wärtsilä, in cooperation with Silverstream Technologies, will install an air bubble lubrication system on one of Maersk's container vessel to test the technology.

Wärtsilä joins supplier Silverstream in the installment of an air bubble lubrication system on one of Maersk's large container vessels.

Developed by Silverstream, the system will be installed on a trial basis to test how it affects the ship's efficiency in terms of fuel consumption and associated emission levels, writes Wärtsilä in an announcement.
