South Korea's DSME reports growing deficit for third quarter

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering exits the third quarter with an increased deficit prompted by factors including poor weather. The shipbuilding major expects increased sales in the fourth quarter, however.

Major South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) reports a setback for the third quarter.

Sales volumes were hit by periods of heavy rain and summer vacation for employees, halting part of the company's work and affecting the bottom line, which went deeper into the red.
