South Korean shipyards had best order year since 2013

South Korea's shipbuilding industry finished 2021 on the highest volume of new orders in eight years. Chinese yards still have the dominant market share.

South Korean shipbuilders leave 2021 with the largest amount of new orders in eight years.

Throughout the year, the major shipbuilding nation secured new orders equivalent to 17.4 million compensated gross tonnes (CGTs), which is more than a doubling compared to 2020's 8.23 million CGTs, reports South Korean news agency Yonhap.
