Finland blocks exports of Danfoss ship engines to Russia

Danfoss Editron could not present sufficient documentation that four ship engines would not end up in Crimea, which would be a violation of EU sanctions. This made Finnish authorities halt the deal in June 2021, according to media.

Last year, Finland prevented Danish industrial firm Danfoss’ Finnish subsidiary Danfoss Editron – which specializes in hybrid and fully electric systems for the maritime sector and others – from exporting four ship engines to Russia, according to Danish media Danwatch on behalf of a right to access of documents regarding Finland’s exports control.
