KPI Oceanconnect expects fuel price spikes when embargo on Russian oil enters force

The EU’s import ban on Russian oil will create ”imbalance” and ”spikes” in the bunker market, with disruptions seen lasting for ”at least the whole of 2023,” says Anders Grønborg, new chief exec of KPI Oceanconnect.
In September 2022, Anders Grønborg replaced Søren Høll as CEO of KPI Oceanconnect. He came from a position at Bunker Holding where he had been since 2020. Grønborg has previously worked for World Fuel Services for 27 years. | Photo: Bunker Holding

On Monday next week, the European Union will implement an import ban on Russian crude oil, bound to cause a further stir on the oil and bunker market, predicts Anders Grønborg, new chief executive of bunker firm KPI Oceanconnect, a subsidiary of world-leading bunker group Bunker Holding.
