WinGD gets approval for its new ammonia engine

An approval in principle from Lloyd’s Register is the first of its kind for an ammonia-fueled two-stroke engine, according to WinGD. It is expected ready in 2024, the company says.

Engine manufacturer WinGD, which competes with companies such as MAN Energy Solutions and Wärtsilä, lands the industry’s first approval in principle for an ammonia engine.
