Wärtsilä sees more carriers improving efficiency instead of switching fuel

Switching to green fuels has the biggest impact in terms of lowering carbon intensity. But it is also the most expensive and complex solution, says the technology supplier.

When carriers and shipowners need to cut CO2 emissions to comply with regulations and future climate requirements, green fuels and new engines are not the main drivers.
