UK insurers covered one third of Russian oil on tankers in 2023

Insurance companies in the UK covered EUR 46 billion worth of Russian oil transported by sea in the 12 months from December 2022, according to report.

UK insurers have handled about EUR 46.4 bn worth of Russian oil on tankers in the 12 months since the sanctions were tightened to include an oil price cap element, according to a report by the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air.
