DNV testing new unmanned battery-powered ship

DNV GL is in the process of testing an unmanned, battery-powered vessel for shortsea shipping. Safety will be increased as the vessel does not require a crew.

Carriers will soon be able to operate ships without the use of crews and without fuel.

Classification company DNV GL is currently testing a new ship type - ReVolt - which can perform unmanned shortsea shipping on battery power. The battery can cover 100 nautical miles, at an average speed of 6 knots.
