Huge layoffs at Wärtsilä due to weak shipping market

Finnish Wärtsilä is now feeling the impact of a weak shipping market and will lay off hundreds of employees in its marine division.

The poor market conditions for shipping are now having direct consequences for the Finnish industry supplier, Wärtsilä, which is foreboding significant cuts in the division for marine solutions, according to the company in relation to the second quarter interim report 2015.
