DSV raises outlook on the back of strong quarter

Danish freight and logistics group DSV is raising its outlook for the full year following a third quarter in which operating profit in its Air & Sea division rose by 24 percent. "We are extremely pleased with the progress,” says CEO Jens Bjørn Andersen.

DSV is now raising its financial outlook for 2015 after a third quarter which has been “extremely pleasing” for the Danish freight and logistics group, as CEO Jens Bjørn Andersen expresses it in the interim report Wednesday morning.

DSV presented revenue of USD 1.85 billion, while its profit after tax came to USD 85.6 million, up from USD 71.5 million in the corresponding quarter last year. It is especially developments in the company’s Air & Sea division which are the cause of the raised expectations for the full year. In this segment the group – helped along by a strong US dollar – bagged a profit of USD 80 million, which was almost USD 15 million more than the same period of 2014, and almost USD 4.6 million more than analysts had expected.
