Samsung will lay off 1500 workers this year

The South Korean yards are presenting rescue plans one after the other. Samsung will reduce its workforce by 1,500 employees this year with more layoffs in the coming years, while management will take a 30 percent pay cut, reports Korea Herald.

Samsung Heavy Industries has presented the details of its plan to get the ailing yard back on its feet. During this year the yard will reduce the number of employees, as 1,500 workers will be laid off via a retirement program. And yet more workers will meet the same fate over the years to come, writes Korea Herald.
