After the US coast guard (USCG) in December opted not to approve Alfa Laval's ballast water system for use in US waters, the company changed tactics and relaunched a new test process in line with the required CMFDA / FDA test method in order to get an approval in 2016.
This approval has now come a big step closer, writes Alfa Laval in a press release, announcing that it has now completed the required tests for its PureBallast system and expects to submit an application with the US Coast Guard over the coming weeks.
