Wärtsilä expects weak sales to shipping this year

The major Finnish supplier expects that the tough times in the shipping industry will also mean fewer orders. The 2016 report shows a 13 percent decline in earnings relative to 2015.

Finnish manufacturer Wärtsilä, which supplies scrubbers and ballast water management systems to the shipping industry, is not feeling hopeful about 2017 when it comes to sales in its marine division.
