Norwegian Shipowners' Association considers lockout to bust oil rig strike
None of the involved parties in the Norwegian oil rig labor dispute have budged. The trade organization for Norwegian Shipowner's is now considering a lockout, which has not happened in years.
The labor dispute on the Norwegian shelf has become entrenched, and none of the parties – the labor union Safe representing the rig workers on the one side and Norwegian Shipowners Association representing employers on the other – are willing to budge. Norges Rederiforbund is now considering deploying a lockout tactic, writes Sysla.
