Wintershall Dea completely electrifies Germany's biggest oil field

The German oil and gas firm has switched from using gas to instead electrify Mittelplate using renewable onshore energy, reportedly creating significant CO2 reductions.

Mittelplate, the largest oil field in Germany, will now run on green electricity transmitted from land going forward, field operator Wintershall Dea states in a press release on Friday.
