European Union unveils EUR 800 billion offshore wind plan

The EU Commission has presented its strategy for how offshore energy and especially wind can be boosted massively in the coming years, where the projects could be placed and how partnerships and financing can be realized. Find the complete strategy here.

The many offshore wind service ship operators which have recently started to gear their business toward wind rather than oil or gas have been looking forward to the EU's strategy for offshore energy ahead of 2050.

And today, Thursday, this strategy was presented in Brussels, thus putting into words how the EU Commission views offshore wind as the energy source of the future and an important tool in terms of reducing carbon emissions in the years to come.
