Crisis-stricken Prosafe to pay USD 55 million to shipyard after lost lawsuit

Norwegian hotel rig supplier Prosafe has been sentenced to pay approximately USD 55 million in a case regarding the rebuilding of a hotel rig. The sentence opposes a verdict made in the case in 2018 and is "extremely disappointing and surprising," says  CEO.

Accommodation rig supplier Prosafe has been sentenced to pay a large claim to shipyard Westcon in the protracted case concerning a complicated rebuilding of hotel rig Safe Scandinavia.

With the final ruling from the Gulating Court of Appeal, Prosafe must now pay NOK 302.5 million (USD 36 million) to Westcon.
