Bio-LNG could keep LNG-powered ships operational until 2050, says lobbyist

If carriers add bio-LNG to the fuel tank in ships sailing on fossil LNG, such ships will be able to comply with current IMO climate targets until 2050, according to lobby organization Sea-LNG.

Shipping companies currently using ships sailing on fossil LNG can keep their ships in the water until 2050 by adding 20 percent bio-LNG to the fossil tank content, according to lobby organization Sea-LNG, which promotes usage of fossil LNG in shipping.
