Statoil CEO resigns with immediate effect

Statoil CEO Helge Lund will resign, effective immediately, says the Norwegian oil company in a brief to the stock exchange. Helge Lund will take over the reins of British BG Group.

The CEO of Norwegian oil company Statoil has resigned from the job, says the company in a brief to the stock exchange. Helge Lund has personally decided to step down, and the move is effective immediately, as Helge Lund has, according to Ritzau Finans, been offered the job as CEO of another international oil and gas company, British BG Group.
