Norwegian Aibel lands Sverdrup USD 1 bln order

Statoil, on behalf of the partners in the Johan Sverdrup field, has awarded subcontractor Aibel an order for more than USD 1 billion. Aibel will build the deck for the coming drilling platform in the giant oil field.

The Norwegian subcontractor Aibel has just been awarded a giant order in the large Johan Sverdrup oil field.

The order, awarded by Statoil on behalf of the partners in the field, including Maersk Oil, is worth a total of USD 1.05 billion and includes engineering and construction of the deck for the field's new drilling platform.
