Norwegian oil supplier fires 400 employees

The oil service company Reinertsen will lay off 350-400 employees due to the slowdown in the oil sector. The majority are engineers in the Norwegian cities of Bergen and Trondheim.

The oil service company Reinertsen is getting ready to terminate between 350 and 400 employees. The majority are engineers who work in Bergen and Trondheim in Norway, write several Norwegian media sources.

"We had hoped for activities to stabilize so the employees could return to work. But with the way that the situation has developed, we have had to inform today that we probably must resort to terminations," says Geir Suul, Director of Business Development at the Reinertsen group.
