Maersk Drilling lays rig up in Gulf of Mexico

80 workers were handed a pink slip and the drilling rig Maersk Developer will be "stacked" in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Maersk Drilling rig "Maersk Developer" has started off without new contracts after the former contract with Statoil, which ran from 2009 to 2016, has expired. This means that the rig will be "stacked" and the workers will be laid off, reports the Houston Business Journal.
