Libya's Army Chief threatens to bomb oil tankers

The Army Commander loyal to Libya's rival government has warned foreign companies that it will fire at any non-Libyan tanker entering the country's waters, souring a controversial oil deal struck between the UN-backed government and a militia commander.

Libya's chief of staff has threatened to bomb oil tankers entering the country's waters without permission from rival authorities controlling the Eastern half of the state-run oil company. The warning emerged in response to a controversial deal between the UN-brokered government in Tripoli and a militia leader in control of the country's western oil terminals.
