Employees halt work on Shell's rigs

Several hundred employees have halted work on Shell's rigs in the North Sea. The conflict relates to the number of jobs and reduced wages, reports the Financial Times. The move marks the biggest strike in the North Sea in 30 years.

The sliding oil price and the subsequent large-scale upheavals in the oil sector, characterized by layoffs and lower wages, have now become too much for the employees on Shell's oil and gas rigs in the North Sea.
