Maersk Drilling contract prematurely terminated

A Maersk Drilling contract with Dong Energy concerning the Hejre oil field in the Danish part of the North Sea has been terminated prematurely. The rig has been working faster than planned, prompting the cancellation.

Maersk Drilling's contract with Dong Energy relating to the Hejre oil field in the Danish North Sea shelf has been canceled prematurely. The move comes after Maersk Resolve finished its work earlier than originally planned, according to a press release from Maersk Drilling.

"We are all highly aware of the difficult market situation we are facing within the offshore drilling industry. Nevertheless, it is gratifying to see a rig such as Maersk  Resolve and its crew perform better than expected and complete the work several months ahead of time," says Maersk Drilling head of Global Sales, Michael Reimer Mortensen, in the press release.
