Profits dive at the world's largest oil service company

It can be difficult to predict the activity levels for oil companies next year and, as such, how busy the oil service companies will be, says the CEO of Schlumberger about an 82 percent drop in earnings.

Profits at the world's largest oil service company, Schlumberger, continue to decline. And fast. During the third quarter of this year, the US-based company delivered a profit of just USD 176 million, which represents an 82 percent drop compared to the same period last year, reports the Wall Street Journal.
