Norway's top offshore carriers have cut a fourth of the workforce

The comprehensive cost reduction measures and streamlining efforts among Norwegian offshore carriers have hit employees in the sector hard. Norway's three top carriers alone let go of close to one fourth of their employees in 2016, reports sysla.no.

2016 was a landmark year for Norwegian offshore in which the low oil prices pushed oil and gas companies' earnings to all-time lows and prompted a streamlining trend which has hit the industry's workers hard.
