Maersk Drilling rejects selling rigs despite downturn

Out of 24 rigs at Maersk Drilling, eight are currently employed and in 2017 the plan is for another three to end contracts. "We are keeping the number we have now," CEO Jørn Madsen confirms to ShippingWatch.

The top line was almost cut in half and when 2017 comes to an end, almost half of Maersk Drilling's fleet of 24 rigs can be without work.

3i buys AMP out of Esvagt

Private equity firm 3i, which owns half of carrier Esvagt, has agreed with the company's second owner, AMP Capital, to take over all of Esvagt for GBP 268 million, making 3i the sole owner. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.
