Fire extinguished following explosion aboard vessel in Dubai's Jebel Ali port

A fire aboard a vessel in major port Jebel Ali in Dubai has been extinguished. The fire erupted following an explosion in a container, which could be heard more than 20 kilometers away.

Authorities in Dubai have successfully extinguished a fire aboard a container vessel, which erupted following an explosion on the night of July 9, reports the Dubai Media Office Friday.

The explosion, which allegedly happened in a container loaded with inflammable chemicals aboard the vessel, could be heard upwards of 22 kilometers away.
