Port of Hamburg to automate pin handling in hinterland processes

To save time currently spent on manual work processes, the Port of Hamburg intends to automate handling of pins on container wagons in relation to rail processing. A mobile robotics system is set to do the job in the future.

Hamburg’s port company, Hamburg Hafen und Logistik (HHLA), plans to develop a mobile robotics system with the aim of automating the time-consuming process of fastening containers to freight trains in relation to hinterland procedures.
