APM Terminals ready for 50 percent more containers in Gothenburg

A new rail track and two container cranes will this fall enable APM Terminals to handle 50 percent more container cargo than before in the Port of Gothenburg.

APM Terminals has decided to expand its business in Gothenburg by establishing a new rail track and constructing two new rail cranes this fall. With the new investments APM Terminals boosts its business in the Port of Gothenburg by 50 percent measured on a yearly basis - if the necessary cargo arrives, that is.

“This is a very positive step for Swedish industry. With the increased train capacity we deliver another competitive advantage to our customers whose supply chains can realize time and money savings. Equally important, train operators gain an extra 15 percent track capacity as we extend rail tracks from 640 meters to 750 meters," says APM Terminals Gothenburg CEO Keld Pedersen in a press release from the terminal operator.
