The Port of Rotterdam has experienced traffic chaos throughout the summer, at great inconvenience to carriers, shippers and the port itself. Now the port is trying to do something about it with an effort focused on three points, says the Port of Rotterdam in its newsletter.

First, the port will try to have the ships transporting small amounts of containers to and from the port call at Rotterdam Container Terminal RCT instead of the two congested terminals ECT Delta Terminal and Euromax Terminal. This will ease the the traffic around the Delta terminal, in particular, and if this conversion is successful the port will direct even more traffic to RCT.
